my queue actually ran down. i’ve had a ridiculously long queue for months now but one week at the farm actually did it. amazing. i literally haven’t been on tumblr, more or less, for this whole week.
i drove back today and had 15 minutes before we went over to dude’s mom’s house for easter. i slept so poorly last night that was exhausted and i had this awful headache. we stayed for 5 hours or so and had a nice time– i’m glad we were there, otherwise dave’s mom would have been alone with her recently-widowed sister, and they’d have been fine but she wouldn’t have had an excuse to make all the Dinner With Trimmings which is the best thing ever, so.– but my head was splitting by the time we left. i took a nap and woke up not knowing where i even was. yikes.
i’m glad to be in my own bed, though. the bed at my sister’s has such a firm mattress that i can’t sleep in any of my usual poses. i rely on there being some give in a mattress so that my shoulders can be in not-ergonomic positions without dislocating, and an insanely firm mattress doesn’t allow this, so there are almost no positions i can be comfortable in. if i sleep on my back like a vampire then my shoulders are ok but i think it makes me snore, i wake up with my sinuses wrecked.
Anyway. next visit, i want to set up the yurt, which means hauling my mattress out of its first winter of storage and seeing if it busted or not.
i’m glad to be in my own house and my own bed with my own cat (who has already given me more snuggles than i got from my sisters’ worthless fuzzballs all week) but i’m not looking forward to going back to my real job.
