formal dress

Hm.
General consensus, here and on elmwoodstrip.org (a local blogging community of which I am recently a member) is that for an evening wedding in Buffalo, one ought to wear a fairly formal dress. It doesn't matter if I match Z, since I won't even be sitting anywhere near him at any point in the whole process.
So basically, some sort of somewhat formal gownish dressish thing, in a color that doesn't clash with the bridesmaids although it probably doesn't matter. Since it's in spring, is it inappropriate to wear dark colors? What about black? I had heard somewhere that wearing either black or white to a wedding is tacky, but I don't know where I heard that.

Ugh, I wish I had so much as one single solitary girl friend in Buffalo who could shop with me. I have no head for such nonsense. I love dressing up, but don't know how, really. I'd get my sister to come help me, but I don't have weekends off.

Oh-- I begged and pleaded to get next Saturday and Sunday off, and they could only give me Sunday, but guess what? Mom and Dad won't even get here until Sunday. I guess it's good to have Saturday so I can get the house in order, but I'm sort of annoyed that they'll be getting here just as I leave for work. Motherfucking job.
I have managed so far to get the back porch in order, to do rather a lot of work on the living room, and just now I scrubbed the shower and tub and did a load of dishes. Z has cleaned off the desk in his room, which is a start. But I am unhappily aware that there is more work to be done in the kitchen and living room, and I have not yet even begun the joyful quandary that is my bedroom, which will be serving as the guest room. Urgh! Hide the porn!

Ugh, I had an awful day. To the fat fucking asshole who ordered himself two sandwiches, an order of wings, and a whole pizza, and his fat girlfriend who ate a whole sandwich and another order of wings, who then left me $50.79 to the fucking penny, I hope that a whole season of misfortunes intended for various of my friends should befall you instead. Fie upon both of thee, and karma will bite you, or there is no point to this life's existence.

In other news, this is fucking IT. My iMac refuses to turn its monitor on, though I have put it to sleep and woken it up six or seven times; and my laptop will not have the monitor on at anything over a 20 degree angle. I am typing this blind, as I cannot see the screen over the keyboard. I'm not kidding. Lack of typos must be a testament to my miraculous skill; typos aren't my fault.
Anyhow.

I am getting rid of both my useless fucking piece of shit computers, and getting a new MacBook. I cannot take this anmymore. I have lost too much productive time to fiddling and fussing with uncooperative computers. This laptop was a waste, and the iMac has lived its useful lifespan. I can't deal. Fuck it.


Er, anybody want two not-so-gently used older Macs?
If not, I'll set them on fire and videotape it. I am really god-damned irritated. Also, I gave a coworker my number because he wanted to call me about some issue, and he said he would call tonight, and so I am stuck sitting up until some sort of sociable hour, lest he call. It is barely eleven, but I am so, so very tired, and I just want to sleep, but no: he said he would call tonight, and I should be awake to answer whatever his damn question was.

Also it is damn cold in my house but I am not going to turn the heat back on. It is nearly June! This is ridiculous.

I would occupy myself by doing some of the cleaning I had planned for tomorrow, but my back and legs hurt too much for me to stand. I would occupy myself in doing some of the writing I had planned for tomorrow, but oh right, my computers both SUCK ASS.
