So you’re a customer of a store. It’s a specialty store, there’s none near your house, so you have to drive a long time to get there. There’s a particular clerk who knows about the thing you want, and you want to see that clerk. She tells you her hours and to come when she’s there.
You drive two hours to go to the store during her shift but you didn’t call ahead or anything, you just went by her telling you that’s her availability. You were last in a couple of months ago, and the thing you want is sort of tricky, though it’s a regular thing we do handle, it’s just that you’re very exacting.
She’s out sick today.
