one minute

less than one minute separates these emails
[image description: image 1 is an email from Tumblr saying my post has been flagged and hidden from view and telling me how to appeal it. image 2 is an email, with a timestamp that in this view is identical, telling me my post has been restored.]
So like. It’s an automated process all the way down. What’s the point?
What is the point? There is no point. (Obviously there’s a filter that trips on some unknown factor, possibly too many images, possibly just an image at all, obviously more active when you post more often, but it’s clearly not a very smart AI– there’s no flesh in these photos, not notably, and while people have probably begun to work out what trips the filter, I don’t actually particularly care. The point is, it’s not intelligent.)
I had left Tumblr for a while in the boycott when they first implemented the change, and I’ve sort of crept back; with the change in ownership it seemed like the point had been made with the boycott, and since pillowfort decided to be butts and dreamwidth still isn’t high-traffic, it’s still really tempting to come here to see things.
but, you know, they’re still trying to algorithm their way through not employing any kind of reasonable content moderation, and to my knowledge they never did do either jack or shit about the Nazis? so like. IDK man!
IDK.
