bartending
Sep. 26th, 2003 06:18 amI've decided I really do want to become a bartender at some point. I was thinking about it before I got this job, and I'm thinking about it again.
Why?
Well, it would be more compatible with my desire to work from home. I have to do a lot more looking into it, and it depends on the hours a typical (well, no, a specific) bar would want from me.
But think about it:
work weird hours. OK.
get out of the house. Good.
see people once in a while. Great!
meet new people.
earn somewhat reliable money!
What could be wrong with that? Besides the cigarette smoke.
Thoughts, anyone? Do I have any bartenders on my friends list?

Smoking was banned in all bars/restaurants in NY State over the summer. You can be a bartender with impunity!
I want to be a bartender, too..;.

(I posted that just to get someone to tell me. That's my secret plot.)
Well, I've decided I shouldn't take a bartending course just yet, as knowledge is better fresher.
The courses are pretty cheap and your return on investement is going to be pretty darn high.
So...
