Well. Got a phone call (Dave did) from his cousin Anita last night (which was startling, because a) nobody calls him and b) he didn't know she had the number) and guess what? Barenaked Ladies are touring, and they'll be playing both in NYC and Philadelphia. Anita is an oldschool diehard fan of them, from waaay back when, so she'll be buying tickets for each show the moment they go on sale.
Dave and I said well, why not? We might as well go to both. Because the NYC one, it's just kinda right there, and the Philadelphia one-- well, we've never seen Anita's Philadelphia digs.
That'll be fun. Anita's sister Helen will be there too, which means fun fun fun.
Anita's also going to the show in D.C., but we think we'll give that one a miss.
Dave also phoned up his mom, which she was pleased by. She was excited to hear that we might move to Buffalo, and brought Dave up to speed on all the horrible politics going on there. She is extremely, extremely fortunate to have her job now: she was bumped from her first school, but wound up with a very good job at a very nice affiliated school. In the meantime, the first school has just been decimated, with teachers being fired as school starts. Can you imagine being an elementary school student and having your teacher's whole position cut two weeks into the school year? How are they even coping?
Got some nice comments to my last entry, in the meantime. I wrote 500 words of copy about new cars last night, so I'll be revising that this morning and sending it in a bit later. Yay!
