I'm so skinny and buff and sexy...
Sep. 10th, 2003 09:46 amLast night I had fettucine alfredo with chicken. Dave made it, and he used real heavy cream in the sauce instead of milk because we had so much cream in the fridge to use in making the ice cream.
It was so rich, I couldn't eat very much, and had to go lie down. it was delicious. I haven't had much cream in my life, but when I was making the ice cream I kept tasting it. It tastes fabulous. It really does-- it tastes quite a bit different from milk, and has an inherent sweetness to it.
I made the ice cream last night, but it didn't set up hard enough to eat, so I dumped it into freezable containers. The instructions said it might have to sit in the freezer for 1-2 hours, but after 2 hours it was still far too soft to even consider it ice cream.
So, I left it there overnight.
This morning I checked, and while the cookie dough doesn't look like it's settled out, the bottom of the container is noticeably yellower-- the EGGS have settled out. Sigh. I don't know how it worked. I wasn't going to eat it at 8 am to find out.
But anyhow, I had several hundred fat calories last night.
This morning I was getting dressed and looked in the mirror and noticed how skinny I looked. I went into the bathroom, where Dave was brushing his teeth, and said "I feel really skinny today." He looked at me, looked surprised, and said "you look really skinny today."
I got on the scale and I'm 5 pounds lighter than my usual low-weight marker (my weight fluctuates by about 2-5 lbs over the course of a normal day).
Hmm...
I did walk home last night. The blisters were terrible. Ugh. But anyway...
I guess eating lots of fat is good for me. Perhaps I should go on a high-calorie diet wherein I just eat less. :D
Well, ice cream it is! Yummy.
I think my next experiment will be Heath Bar Crunch. But I have to figure out how to get it to freeze. It just wasn't getting any harder-- the canister was starting to get warm, so continuing to use the ice cream maker to try to freeze it wouldn't help.
Maybe I should get a second canister, and transfer all the goo midway to the fresh one. But, I'd need a bunch more freezer space before that was even doable, so never mind.
In other news, I've started drawing up my CSS stylesheet for my website. I'm thinking all shades of green...
Unforunately the one shade of green I selected for the text is too dark. Either I'll have to go with bright green text, or I'll have to just use black. In which case, it won't look like I've done anything, because I don't want to use a background color. Sigh...
I'll have to think about it. Color schemes are hard. :(
Any suggestions? I really like a site on a white background. What do y'all think about colored backgrounds?

Date: 2003-09-10 09:09 am (UTC)...that's the whole point of the Adkins diet. You get your food via fats and veggies while avoiding carbs (and to some extent, sugars). It's not good for athletes, because carbs give you more sustainable energy. It's also pricey; because you're eating meat and veggies, which are more expensive than carb foods.

I believe fat contains some sort of chemical that makes you feel full longer. That doesn't explain Tahous-shits, or why Chinese food reaves you quickry, though.

Date: 2003-09-10 06:39 pm (UTC)There's a grain of truth to it, in that people who cut all the fat out of their diet are not eating as humans were intended to eat.
If you eat a little of everything, in moderation, according to your needs, then you'll be healthy. If you eat whatever you want to eat, as often and as much as you want, then you'll be fat.
I dunno, I'm pretty sleepy now. Yep, that's all I have to say about that.
