Dave and I, after debating it for a while, signed up for Netflix. dave's sister has it and really likes it. So, we sat down and went through their listings of movies to try and determine what movies we would want to see. We're not big mass-entertainment people; we always mean to see movies but then we don't always get around to it. Lately we've been trying out the little video shop in hastings, but they haven't had any of the movies we've wanted to see, either on video or DVD. And none of their porn is on DVD, so... no point to it really.
So we're going to attempt to reconnect to pop culture.
What follows is the list we made of movies we want to rent.

Have we left anything out? Do let us know.

Now we just have to decide what order to put them in our rental queue. We've started off with the first three but after that, they were just written down in the order in which they occurred to us. With, of course, serieses and trilogies put separately, and directors whose ouvre we want to explore put separately at the end.

(note: List composed in VoodooPad 1.0. check it out, if you use OS X. Pretty funky. I'm undecided as to whether I like it or not really... At times, it's the coolest thing ever, and at others it just pisses me off. I don't really know how to use it yet.)

I'm going to assume you've seen Hedwig. However I really must insist you also include Pink Floyd's The Wall in that list as well. Also Videodrome if you can find it. Oh and Performance (with Mick Jaggar and Kieth Richards). If I think of any others to add to this list I'll let you know.

Requiem For a Dream is the most amazing movie I've ever seen, but I would never subject myself to it again. This is a brutal, brutal movie. It's worth seeing b/c it's brilliant, but I wouldn't recomend it if you've had a bad day/week/year. I saw it when it played on campus my freshman year and boy, did it fuck me up.

Just a warning. ^_^
