But that was another place and another time.
(I like the Tony Joe White original better than the Dusty Springfield remake, because she omits the last verse and renders the song bereft of poignance, leaving it just plain sappy. Oh well. Son of a Preacher Man is good enough that she can be forgiven, mostly.)
I'm kind of sleepy and not making much sense, but I just felt comfy and wanted to post. It's supposed to rain tonight, which is a bummer, but I've had a pleasant evening with Dave. I made instant bread mix which we ate with expensive cheese, which was really nice. We had salad, and lobster bisque, for dinner. I only poured myself a small bowl which is just as well because I felt dizzy and ill after having the little I did have. It's nice and all, it's just... man, that's rich stuff.
Have been discussing the upcoming website with Dave. It's a lot of fun to design it. He's got a lot of really great ideas, and I feel like we work well together. Which is what I've wanted all along. If we're both motivated... It's just going to be really cool, is all.
His latest thought is that instead of just having people mentioned in journals and articles and the like be indexed as keywords, they could be their own objects in the database, allowing them to actually log in and create user accounts for themselves. For example, if I refer to them as a nickname rather than by their real name, which seems to me to be a fairly sensible courtesy as well as being common livejournal practice, they could set up user accounts for themselves and change the nickname to suit their preference.
This is all theory, but that strikes me as both suitably dorky and actually cool, so...
:-)
I'm not making a whole lot of sense. Too bad... maybe later.
