Apr. 22nd, 2003 05:33 pmWe have near-zero bandwidth because the boss is downloading something of 120 MB.
Why yes, our network was cobbled together by an orthodontist from tin foil, wire, string, and tin cans. Why do you ask?

Re:
Date: 2003-04-23 03:47 am (UTC)But he's a buddy of the co-founder, despite having been useless from the start, and at this point, a huge money pit unto himself. We've laid off dozens of competent employees, and yet continue to pay this worthless waste of breath tens of thousands of dollars a year. I shudder to think how much he makes. He's never, to my knowledge, done anything except perhaps fix things he broke in the first place, and fix them in four or five times, if not ten or twenty times, the time it ought to have taken. (Like that time when he brought our Internet connection down, and it took him four days to fix it... and it only got fixed because the boss himself stepped in and made him do it.)
So he provides a stellar example to us of what happens when you give an employee no reason whatsoever to work-- he has no chance at all of losing his job no matter what he does.
He'll probably be here another fifteen years before he retires. He's been here over 25 already. God forbid I ever get that complacent; it's disgusting.
Oh, to make him an even bigger prizewinner, he also refuses to believe that women are competent to hold professional jobs, and so if one asks him for information he won't give it to them, and if one asks him to do something he won't. So I have to ask someone else to ask him for things. The guy who's been here three months longer than I have is my designated asker, because he'll get an answer even though he has no business knowing, because he's a man.
Sigh.
this is from kat
I'd kill him.
growl!
