i haven't posted in days. it's weird. i just don't have time.
i'm not that busy, but i'm actually working, at work. Crazy. And then I come home and I don't really want to play on my computer. I do have my blazing fast dsl and all, but i'm just not that interested. my eyes don't like staring at computers all day.
i'm trying to redesign my personal website, but I really, really don't have the energy. I've been working on the work website for a month now and I'm just not interested anymore when I go home. No more dreamweaver.
I think I might be losing weight after all. But... not a lot. OK, so I've been walking about two miles a day for a month now, more or less. Maybe three or four weeks. I've also been watching what I eat. Eating a normal amount, cutting down on snacks, no munching.
I've lost three pounds.
Well, you say, you've been working hard; naturally your muscles will have increased in size and density, and thus your weight hasn't changed.
But my waist is two inches bigger than it was.
My waist and hips, deposits of fat, are fatter than they were.
Sigh.
I can't win, I really can't. I'm going to try to increase the exercise I get by doing ab crunches and some arm exercises before I leave in the morning, as kind of a warm-up, and I'll probably try to get in the habit of going to work earlier so I can walk home instead of getting a ride. So I'll try that. But if things keep on as they have been, I'll be 200 pounds in no time, with a 40-inch-waist. I swear I've been eating the same or less. My body must think that winter is coming and so I must cling to every calorie I can against the coming famine.
I just don't like spending too much time exercising. At least it's a scenic walk. I scared the crap out of a pair of deer this morning that must have been napping and didn't hear me coming. They make a weird huffing noise when they're really scared. Startled me, sure enough.
I'm going to hike home tonight, at least. I'd hoped to be thinner by Easter, just as a tentative goal, but that hasn't happened. (Though this weekend Sharon did ask if I'd lost weight.) Not appreciably, anyhow. So I'll have to pick a new goal. Once I'm at a weight I feel proud of, I'll get a bunch of new clothes. We'll have to see when that happens... It'd be nice to have a date, but the new wardrobeification will probably happen when Fiona's free to come shopping with me. And I'll probably have to buy her a tank of gas. Or two. She's always penniless. I just don't get it. I never had any money but then I never spent any either, and that must be where we differ.
Speaking of which, my credit card bill is past due. I think I have enough money to go pay it. I should find out. Payday was last week. And is again next week. Hmm...
Right, I'm just rambling now. I should go. I'll post later. Sure. Why not? Maybe after my picnic tonight that I'm bent on actually taking. :-)

I'm just frustrated because as it is I spend over an hour a day exercising, and I just don't want to spend any more time. I have other shit to worry about. So I'm bummed that beating the hell out of my body has done nothing for my vain little fashion goals.
It is a satisfying hike; I do like the feeling I get from exerting myself like that. I might be interested in some kind of upper body / abs workout; my legs and lungs get a lot of action but I mostly keep my hands in my pockets. So if your boss has any ideas about that, that'd be welcome... I just was kind of hoping it wouldn't be that necessary.
It doesn't look like I'll be in Maryland anytime soon, anyhow. I don't think working out until I die would really be that fun a way to go... I rather had something else in mind, if it came to dying of exertion. ;]
