from the ethernet to the ethereal net
Apr. 6th, 2003 02:08 pmmy computer now has a schlong.
no really.
i bought a wireless networking card so that i could put my computer in my bedroom. i figured the wireless card was a bit more expensive than just buying 100 feet of ethernet cable, but probably less likely to break something in the long run.
so i set up my computer and stuffed it into a corner, and my link signal was only 60% strength. I pulled it out of the corner and set it against a wall so that the printer cable would reach, and now my link signal is at least 90%. So... all is well.
I bought an extension cord for my keyboard, too. So now I can type from anywhere in the room. Mua ha ha ha.
I also have to buy the following:
a second graphics card so i can use two monitors: $55-$900
memory, so i can run dreamweaver and photoshop both-- $30-$1000
...
a new keyboard without a sticky spacebar key would be nice, too, but not essential.
I also need some boots for hiking-- at least $75
and some shirts to wear to work, for which I'll budget $50.
Hmm... I'll eventually need some other clothing, too. But for now...
I haven't got that much money, so we'll see how these other things progress. :/
