dragonlady7This morning went to capital district career fair with Abbie and Liesl. (IM'd her in the morning and recruited her for our trip...)
was fun. i left 3 or 4 resumes with various people, including RPI...
and Stewart's, of all companies. Sheesh.
Brr, it's cold in here. Might be a frost tonight, probably will be tomorrow. Got to find a place for my plants!!!
Sigh. An indoor place. But where? Hmm... Zobar, want some plants?
I have a very fat and sleepy tree frog sitting on my mouse. i've decided to accustom mine to being handled, a bit more. Like Abbie's. They seem so happy to be tamed. Their lives are more exciting for it. Catherine enjoys climbing on Abbie. Here, Mom's ministrations have transformed my once lean and hungry froggies into little butterballs. I won't be feeding them quite as much as this Indian summer of plenty gave them... but I'm sure being fat hasn't hurt them too much.
EW, the little bastard has just taken a MASSIVE shit on my hand. Nearly the length of his own body, and bigger around than his leg. I don't know how he does it. Jeez. Stinky, too. Ew. Gross.
Now he's hopped onto the stack of papers by the printer, and is sleeping again. Little turd. Literally.
Oh well, that's what happens when you feed them a lot: big poo.
He seems satisfied with himself. Well, I guess I know the feeling; I've had some nice poops in my day.
Oh boy. Now he's peeling his skin off and eating it. Amphibians do that fairly regularly. Just the thin top layer. I guess he started the process by taking that shit, which was probably about a sixth of his body weight, so his skin fit looser. Then he wedged his back feet into his armpits, one at a time, and pulled them loose, pulling off the loose skin, which he then stuffed into his mouth. He shrugged out of the rest of it, letting his swallowing muscles do most of the pulling, and in a few moments (probably a minute or so) he was done!
They eat the shed skin to re-ingest the nutrients in it. Ew, he kinda left a mark on Mom's paper, which he was sitting on. Ew. I won't tell her what that is...
OK, I had a bunch of deep thoughts but I'm too distracted now. So I leave you with that insight into amphibian behavior. Good night.
