doot doot doo...

i went to benson's in clifton park with abbie and we bought crickets for our frogs. yay!
she also bought a goldfish. I was kind of pissed, because it could only live for half an hour in the plastic bag she had it in, so we had to go right home, because it was about a half-hour drive home. But oh well. We should've communicated better. Abbie and I aren't a good pair because as bad as I am at thinking things through ahead of time, she's even worse.
But she's darn good with frogs. Hers were much tamer to her hand already. Mine... Hm. I can't even find the second one, in this big tank. I can't get at them, in this crowded cramped cluttered room, so I barely ever handle them, and I feel funny when I do. I have guilt for stealing them away from the wild in the middle of breeding season. but... the pool was gonna get chlorinated soon! They would have died! So it was more of a rescue than a capture. But still. I feel funny, like I didn't really need to have them, and I could have released them in a pond.
Hmm... I can only find one of the frogs... I don't know where the second one went! :( :( :( I don't know when he could have escaped-- he was there this afternoon, but just now tonight when I went to switch the tops, I couldn't find him. So I dunno where he went.
Hmmmmmm.
Well. Anyhow.
Up to date: what have I done lately?
I honestly don't remember... mostly I've been hanging out with Abbie. Drew naked people on Sunday at the Arts Center, which was entertaining... I still have some drawing skills left, which pleases me... I should do more art this summer... then I, um... what? I dunno. Monday, I ... don't remember. Today I went to the doctor's, and was pronounced healthy, got a new prescription for my stupid retarded eczema, which I forgot to fill, and the stupid stuff has been driving me absolutely batty all afternoon, itching like hell, and breaking out in blisters and other unspeakable things...
The skin on my hands is like old paper. This new prescription had better fucking fix it. I wish she'd given me a referral to the dermatologist now, rather than waiting for this new prescription to see if it works. My insurance runs out in two and a half months! I don't have time to fuck around. I have no guarantee of getting new insurance and picking up where I left off. If I don't fix things now... when will I?

good heavens, the smaller of my two frogs had indeed escaped. i just wandered out of my room for a little while, and I came back, and sat on my bed, and there he was, sitting on my laundry basket and blinking at me. It must have taken him quite some time and struggle to cross my room. So I nabbed him, quick, and dumped him into the water in the cage, as he was covered in lint, and I had moisturizer on my hands, and I'm sure neither was good for his delicate froggy skin.
I'm going to have to clean their cage tomorrow, at least the water, and find my damn spray bottle so I can properly mist them in the mornings...
Silly little Houdini. I think his name may have to be Harry after all. Abbie's named hers Henry and Catherine, for Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon. Not really sure why, but she was entertained by it.
We're gonna do a hypertext of some kind on goldfish, I think.
If anyone can help me get software for Macintoshes, that'd be really helpful. Abbie has a Powerbook and no software for it, and no money. It'd be sweet if we could get hers rigged up to do some of the stuff I do, so I could teach her better. But I don't know where to get the kind of stuff I've begged, borrowed, or stolen...
this is just getting rambly, so i'm gonna go now.
hack, hack, cough, splutter. ack.
