dragonlady7I have to bring to a close the wacky events from earlier in my journal.
Where to start... why not the beginning. Sure.
Somebody posted some very rude things in response to an entry I had about a friend (or more, at this point, a former girlfriend of a friend; in this case time exacerbates rather than heals)'s publicity campaign for her tour, in which i was criticizing it for improperly using a fictionalization of her life that involved a close friend. (I felt she was insensitive, she insisted she had a perfect right to say whatever she wanted; we weren't even arguing the same point, which is how these things get so messy and totally pointless... etc.) Anyhow, the tour was two people, and she gave the link to the other person, reasonably enough I suppose, though I didn't really talk about him. She also showed a few people, as she felt that my entry was an unbridled attack upon her and thus hurt her feelings. We discussed it afterward and it seemed everything was fine. Well, apparently, in the meantime, the other guy on the flier had distributed the link to a few close friends. Why, I'm not sure. Just 'hey check this out', or maybe he was outraged on her behalf that someone might express an opinion that something she did wasn't the right thing, I don't really know, and it doesn't particularly matter. The point is that, in his own words, "I then sent the link to a few FRIENDS. and i mean a "FEW" and i mean "FRIENDS."". (I had asked how the hell such a rabid person got the link, and had wondered whether he'd just like distributed it to fans or something. He assured me that he may be new at this but he's not a total idiot. Which I will agree with; I can only imagine the dire consequences if several doz... no, I won't make a joke about fans, I'm trying to apologize, not further inflame.)
So one of his friends (see above) is the doofus asshole behind the malicious flames in my journal.

I suppose this reflects slightly poorly on Mr. Brian W. Spencer's judgement in people, but it doesn't make him worthy of all the flaming of HIM that's been done in my journal, so I'm sorry all that had to happen. It does reflect somewhat well on the sleuths that pinpointed the identity of the culprit, but we were one step short, which is unfortunate. But Mr. Spencer has refused to reveal the name of my assailant (not that it would do me any good anyhow), even though this dickwad has through his stupidity gotten poor Brian's name and website dragged through the mud. So, to all you like ten (i'm being generous. pardon the vanity.) people who read this, go buy Brian's CD, as he's very young, very new at all this, and very traumatized by this turn of events. And it wasn't even really his fault; he just had poor taste in friends.
Whoever that jackass is, I hope he's sorry, and I sincerely hope Brian never sends him anything anymore. He's probably just trying to get in Brian's pants or something; I can't think of any other reason for such a pointlessly chest-beating display. Beware! (i don't actually know the gender of the party involved, but in this era of equal opportunity, i'm leaping to the same narrow-minded conclusion i would've anyway. It might be that he wanted in annie's pants. I dunno. But I'm being a pig, and suggesting sexual motives, as have been queried by several IM'ers over the last week.)
So, sorry Brian, get new friends.
And to Brian's idiot "friend", get your motivations straight. If you were passively-aggressively seeking to get out of an unrewarding friendship, while pissing off the largest number of people possible, then congratulations. Otherwise... wow, you're dumb.
In closing, I will share this little gem, courtesy of the fencing.net discussion board:
"Arguing on the Internet is like winning the special Olympics. Either way, you're still retarded."
That applies to everybody involved in this, I think. Politically incorrect, maybe. [shit, i'd better put a disclaimer on: not meaning to belittle accomplishments of mentally/physically handicapped athletes, etc. My point is merely that, um... i'm a wordy shite, aren't i... well, the Special Olympics don't exactly get a month straight of major-network air coverage, now do they?]

ok, it was just one person, and the people she pointed to it. but the point is, i know strange people.
and i like to argue with them. :-D
