Mmnm I don’t know if this is a helpful remark, but maybe try not to overthink this? As in, forget brainstorming just do it. Turn on the YouTube tutorial and take out the tub of clay and do it! Just like in the video don’t worry about having any particular other ideas or what’s next on a list. ��✨ oh and the emoji are only bc I’m on my phone typing this, I don’t know how to do this from my computer or anything ��
Oh, I can’t follow video tutorials. It’s just a couple of photos and some descriptions. The issue is that there’s sort of infinite possibilities for how to do what I want, and I need to scrounge up the materials and may or may not have the exact suitable ones.
I could go looking and find a tutorial that says things like “one (1) sheet 8x10 cardstock, 1 roll 1/2″ masking tape” etcetera. This doesn’t; it just says “ball up some paper until it’s about this size and tape it to the shape you want and make details out of cardboard and tape them on like so”, and I am Overthinking how to exactly do that. Also I don’t know where I put my Xacto knife, it’s in a tub that might be in the basement, hm, I don’t know if I have a cereal box, I’d have to find one, and so instead I’m sitting here in the same spot finishing a Poe/Finn sex scene, refreshing Tumblr, creepily making sure certain people are still following me, etc (i never do that but i had a horrible thought that maybe I offended a particular person, and my follower count *did* drop, and maybe– but no, I am safe, what is my deal)
and in short, I think my concentration (such as it ever is)’s too shot to do anything tonight. I think I’ll try to brainstorm tomorrow while at work, my busiest day of the year, I’ll console myself with sketches and ideas, and then hopefully tomorrow night I’ll be able to kind of sink mindlessly into giving it a damn shot. I don’t know.
I did finish that Poe/Finn sex scene, though. If tomorrow goes poorly, I might even put it up! (It’s more Found Cat.)
Sometimes a successful day, for me, involves beginning a series of tasks and figuring out which of them I least want to do so I can use the others to procrastinate. It’s the only way I get anything done.
oh p.s. i can’t figure out how to type replies on my phone so– also why *can’t* there be emojis on computers, I don’t get it, but I can’t even copy-paste them!
