Someone, somewhere, while I was in the depths of the murder woods in my yurt, must have recced or posted or something about The Spectrum of Bad Ideas, because it got a little flood of kudos in the middle of last week and there’s been this smattering of wonderful comments on it, and I just want to thank whoever that was, whenever that was, because it has made my week. I’ve been online so little that I actually was convinced I had dreamed it until I got two more comments today. (My online presence while in the murderwoods is mostly from the moments just before I fall asleep and just after I wake up unless the cold has killed my laptop battery, so I’m often a little hazy on what really happened. By the way I’ve written 0 words of fiction in November but in my head I’ve done about 5k on various projects, and I’m a little disappointed every time I realize I never wrote any of that down.)

So. Anyway. Thank you, whoever recced that story. <3

(As an aside, I’m still actually pretty upset about the dudes getting murdered, that’s awful, and I was trying to figure out if I could send the family a condolences card or something, but surely the logistics of that will defeat me. They never said if it was gangs or drugs or just a bad end to a night out together or what drove three men to murder two other men, but I don’t care, nobody deserves to die like that, and the fact that they dumped Hernandez’s body in the beautiful woods where I live means I can’t stop thinking about it. But. Now it has taken ahold of my brain to refer to them as the murderwoods, which isn’t really fair. But it’s concise.)

(For the record, I was aware when I chose to live in a canvas shack in the woods that this was a bit of a security conundrum, so the spot where I’m situated is actually impossible to get to without crossing at least one, more likely two bridges, and you’d have to go directly past the house and the barky dog, and you’d also have to go through the barnyard and it’s not likely you’d randomly do that. So, I suppose if I had enemies, they could find me, but if I had enemies, I wouldn’t spend that much time alone in a canvas shack in the woods. Poor Hernandez was found about a mile and a half from where I sleep, but he was in a ravine on the other side of two ravines from me.)
