If you live in Texas, for the love of god and small puppies, make the state go blue. Or at least purple.
History has its eye on you.
This is not a surprise to people who actually live in Texas. If you look at the 538 stats, Texas has been pinkish to purple to blueish in many counties for the past several elections. It’s the gerrymandering and the complete lack of support from the National Democratic party that keeps it from always being a swing state. Now if Oklahoma or Kansas went purple or blue, THAT would be a big deal.
Also, the parties have been keeping a close eye on demographics here because population shifts are such that “minorities” will be the majority statewide by 2018 or so (and already are in San Antonio). That alone is expected to flip us by the next election.
No one really expected it to happen in THIS election, but then, no one expects the Spanish Inquisition the Trump campaign.
