You could mail her the story without including your fannish handle…probably wouldn’t prevent her from finding it if she’s determined, but she might just go Huh :) and not follow up. I guess the Q is whether you’re prepared for her likeliest reactions, including whether she’d tell other family members
I mean. I’m not like. Scared of it. I just. Don’t. Talk to my family or RL friends about what I write. Kind of ever.
It’s not like it’s a secret, I just assume nobody’s interested, and I’d just be embarrassed to talk about it. I’m kind of. Well. A mess, in RL. Is what it boils down to.
(Sometimes in memes and things I see people on here talking about their real-life friends reading their stuff and god, I’m so jealous, but I couldn’t handle that, I don’t think. But what would that be like. Nobody in my RL reads my writing or is interested in doing so. Dude reads this blog, sort of, but he doesn’t really like my style of writing, so he doesn’t read any of it, and I suppose I used to be sad about that but it was so long ago I’m just sort of… used to it now. Nobody reads my stuff, that’s just how I live my life. It’s not a secret, just… nobody cares. Literally everyone wants to write a novel, why would anyone want to read mine? I got enough reactions like that, I just stopped talking about it.)
I sent her the link and she never wrote back, so. *shrug* I won’t freak out, it’s just a weird intersection.

Well, y’all are just sweet. I guess I’ve posted it and I’m over it and maybe I’ll let myself do the follow-up where Finn is shy and sweet and it takes him like another 3k+ of shy adorable post-trauma to figure out that Poe is pining over him like an entire forest. It might remain an interesting challenge if I do it entirely in Finn’s POV. I don’t make myself do stuff like that very often.
