Thanks to those who’ve been asking after my sister and my thoughts are with those of you dealing with this hurricane!
Sister just sent a photo of house (and 1 child of 3, and wow the garage is getting heavy use holding all the outdoor stuff), saying it’s just drizzling for now. Mandatory evac order for them came through last night long after the kids were in bed; consensus among the neighborhood was that it’s too late, so they’ve all helped each other batten hatches, and now the neighborhood kids are playing while they can, after filling every possible container with water etc. The worst will be this evening, says the weather report, but they intimately know that the National Guard is already called up (that’s where their dad is).
She’s lived in that house for over ten years and this is the first season we’ve had worries like this. Was I oblivious, or is it truly different?
