hokay chapter 8, which is NOT the final chapter of a story I was totally convinced was 6 chapters long, are you sick of me yet.
Way Too Much Of The Stuff: featuring Luke Skywalker in combat sort of, Kes innovating solutions with explosives, Finn getting Officially Promoted to Sonhood in Kes’s eyes by being a Total Badass Idiot, Rey holding up an X-Wing with the power of her mind, Bolt totally reasonably assuming she’s overdosed on stimulants (a hell of a first impression), Rey also having Angst, and Kes telling Old Man War Stories.
There was too much to cram in any more even though it’s not that long. Also I really wanted to update instead of sitting on it forever while I tried to cram the rest of the action sequences in there.
I decided not to name the chapter “There Are Some Primo Kes-Dad Moments In This One Guys” but it was a near thing.
Chapter 9 might be a couple more weeks but this coming Tuesday is the last chicken processing day in 2016 so I’ll be spending less time out in the yurt, going forward, and more time being bored indoors, and indoor boredom is how fic gets written.
