ughhh in my absence a wolf spider seems to have decided my bed is her territory.
the wolf spiders are good neighbors because they are chill, they have their territory and they stay out of my bed.
but she thinks my bed is her territory and that is Not Chill and this is upsetting a crucial component of the harmony of this place.
Not Chill, lady. You can’t have this bed. It’s mine. I’m flexible on literally everything else. I’ve evicted you twice. I don’t know how else to break it to you. I know you’re the same one, I’m kind of a conoisseur now. (I also know you’re female because most of the chill ones who lived in the roof hole, the wall, the other wall, the section of wall over there, and the wall over there were dudes, and your abdomen is shaped differently but your markings are the same. Also one of the dudes on the wall is a creepy pale morph now, I think it’s the same dude but has just shed his skin a couple times and I didn’t know wolf spiders came that pale but he’s super weird-looking, I tell you what. Y’all been partying too much while I was gone.)
On a related note, today I cleaned the evisceration room and there was an enormous, magnificent spotted orbweaver who had a web in the window. She was truly huge, a solid inch or more long with a giant round abdomen. One of the farmhands was there as I was starting to clean the room, and she and I brainstormed how to save this spider. I didn’t want to spray her with the hose, because not only did I not want to kill her, I also kinda figured she was so big she’d survive it and get mad. So we looked around and found a broom and a bucket and a length of 2x4, and managed to knock her into the bucket (she was so big she *thunked*) and the other girl went and deposited her in another windowsill to hopefully make herself a new home there.
Anyway, if I get bitten tonight i’m gonna be super bummed.
