oh you might get a kick out of this one. mom recently posted on facebook about how proud she was to attend the change of command ceremony for her “baby” (my older sister) taking command of a brigade, and some knob commented “thank him for his service!” come on now, I know the uniform’s unisex but it was a face shot with her name (Kathleen) written underneath. Thank him for his service! Mom was so indignant.
Oh yes this right up my alley of things that rile me up, jerks that cannot wrap their head around women in the military :/

At the change of command ceremony, the outgoing commander said that he’d been talking with his buddies about the new person coming in, and he knew her, it’s a small world, and one of them said, “Well, we’ve been flying coach, but now we’ll be flying first class.”
She’s spent her whole career trying to single-handedly undermine anyone’s basis for being a jerk about women in the military, and in her small corner of the Army, she seems to be doing all right. :)
