phew i have a brutal headache but i know why, at least. i spent yesterday bending over a lot, to harvest flowers, which does bad things to the pressure in my head I guess, and i always get headaches?
but we did it, we set up the flowers for a wedding, so now my sister can add that to her portfolio as a flower seller. It was a Pinterest paradise, this wedding, full-on Etsy aesthetic everywhere, and I say that not condescendingly but with some admiration. I mean, this was full-on. At a campground, with yurts! deluxe ones! The main reception area is an old barn with like, cracks between the siding and exposed-wood beams. And the decorations included garlands made of hundreds of hand-cut little paper hearts on twine, and the table runners were burlap with lace on top, and there were little triangular pennants of little floral and gingham fabric scraps strung on twine all along the route between the spot for the ceremony and the reception hall, and so on.
So of course, we were told 11 tables, and got there and there were in fact 11 tables but each one had like five small vases on it, so. We spent a couple hours reconfiguring all the bouquets we’d so carefully assembled on Thursday. (Because we spent all day yesterday assembling bouquets for today’s market, and I forgot to ask how that went.)
Anyway, I deserve the headache because all I had for lunch was a ginormous ice cream cone, because the wedding is way up in Washington County, which means an hour-long drive along the most gorgeous scenery– it looks like the scene on a Ben & Jerry’s carton, the whole way, with green hills and blue sky and black and white cows– and also means that at the part where Rte. 40 takes a jog in Greenwhich, there’s the Ice Cream Man, and so of course we had to stop there on our way home.
It was worth it. I gotta keep remembering how good it was, though, as my head keeps hurting.
Also maybe i should drink some more water and eat something else.
Mm and then I stood in the sun for about 45 minutes decorating the arbor thing, and now I have bad hives on the backs of both hands, which is dumb bullshit.
