So my older sister just called me for image editing help, and I’m telling the story only because her phrasing was so cute.
The images were just her face, straight on and in profile. They’re just for a database, she said, to have on file. I fixed them, made them the right size, asked about the guidelines.
She said oh, it doesn’t matter much, they’re not getting printed anywhere. The US Military just keeps photos on file of their personnel who are traveling abroad, in case they get lost or stolen.
Lost or stolen. I asked her not to get lost or stolen or even just misplaced, and she promised to do her best.
(It’s not a deployment, just an exchange program kind of visit. The state of Georgia has a relationship with the country of Georgia, and it’s her turn to get to go on a visit. She hosted some visitors ar her house last year and was pleased to report that in the face of a pile of small children and large dogs and a pool party not much translation was needed.)
