ha I was too busy to put this up last week and all weekend and then this week I was like surely i will post that chapter but i never had time, and after a bit I was like idly sad about how I’d posted that chapter but I couldn’t remember if anyone had liked it or not, and it was only late last night that I exhaustedly picked up my computer and squinted at it and was like
oh i think i know why nobody commented on that chapter here it is, not on AO3 that’d explain some stuff
so anyway. I have finally posted the last chapter of Dragon And Slayer so now the last prequel to FFP is done and the next thing I post will be a sequel which will pick up where we left off, i.e. with Ciri and Lu actually finally banging, LOL.
so anyway here’s the payoff of the dragon story. with a bonus epilogue of a scene i wrote literally years ago and then didn’t use in FFP and then was like “ah i should write prequels so i can put it in” and then almost forgot to use, so, well, but here it is.
Dragon And Slayer, chapter 3, on AO3 https://archiveofourown.org/works/49832770/chapters/127863421
“A moment,” Emhyr said, frowning deeply. “There’s a lot of language pertaining to non-humans here. Is it not known that Nilfgaard’s policy is to prohibit discrimination in this area?” Ciri took a drink, and smiled politely. “It never hurts to codify it directly,” she said. “There are many nonhumans in Vergen, whose rights are not being respected under the regime of Aedirn, regardless of what Nilfgaard’s policies are.” “That’s unacceptable,” Emhyr said. “As a vassal state Aedirn may not enact such policies.” “Whether they’re allowed to or not,” Ciri said, “is beyond the scope of my explorations, but I don’t blame the folk of Vergen for wanting to make it explicit in their own demands, rather than relying on Nilfgaardian edicts in this manner.” “The population is heavily Dwarven, is it not?” Morvran asked, looking up from his notes. “Yes,” Ciri said, “but they are far from the only nonhumans present.” “Mm,” Morvran said, and did not enquire further, but his pen scratched across the parchment.
