So I was gone from work for like three weeks. Unpaid leave, it’s how I do. Whatever.

I came back and like obviously the room I use for an office has seen heavy use during that time. I’m not fussed, though it annoys me when they leave garbage on my desk. The middle drawer of my desk had a bunch of stuff shoved in it, which I didn’t mind except for the used lollipop stick. Like why. Why would you leave that there. Who raised you.

My computer had been left on, which is also annoying, there’s no need for that. Whatever. I woke it up to use it and noticed somebody had installed the Opera internet browser, which was a bit of a surprise, I didn’t think it existed anymore. But like I mean. Y’all do you, I appreciate people not using my browser that I carelessly left all my shit logged into, actually, so sure, whatever.

I noticed all this on Friday, and then worked Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, and it was not until Wednesday afternoon that I clicked on a link in our shipping software, to open the listing for that thing so I could see what it looked like because I couldn’t find the damn thing we’d sold so I could ship it.

The link opened in Opera. Whoever installed it had made it the default browser. Sheesh.

It took a long time to load because opening the link meant that Opera thought I wanted to both update it and restore the last browsing session,

The browsing session was the Updated Opera tab, the thing I clicked on, and several tabs of pornographic websites.

Guys. GUYS. Come ONNNNNN.

argh anyway. I will not explain how I so instantly recognized the one URL and thus did not click over to it, so I do not know specifically what kind of porn this person was looking at, in my chair, at my desk, on my computer, but another one had a descriptive preview so I couldn’t help but know a couple of things that i didn’t really want to know.

So yeahhhhhh…. I know if I kick up a fuss nobody is ever going to admit to having been that guy who not only installed a new browser to look at porn, but also made it the default browser….. but I’m now beginning to ponder tactics of how I might begin to find out who this would have been. There are several suspects.

anyway. putting this off for the week i’m gone but i might put out feelers with coworkers i’m quite sure are not the culprit, and see if anyone says anything.
