timeline confusion
Sep. 3rd, 2022 05:25 amauthor, listen i'm pretty sure i have dyscalculia, but i'm not like, well i don't know what good having a name for it does, but that's what it's gotta be, i can't understand why this is so hard for me either

so uh i was going back through the timeline of all my collected works right, trying to figure out where things exactly fit– it is clear that the meowvran miniseries within the FFP series are prequels, right?– and I was suddenly stricken with confusion over when things possibly happen, and it’s only after a great deal of angst that I realized that uh
i have the timeline going from December of 1272 to January of 1272
that’s not how that works the year switches over and gets incrementally one more when you have a new calendar year
this is a basic fact which evidently eluded me, and so like… FFP starts in Januaryish of 1273. Peace-Tied is in Novemberish of 1272 which means that by the time of Growing Out we’re into the late winter but given the calendar year rollover it is now 1273.
These are, I’m led to understand, fairly basic considerations about how linear time works, but have heretofore somewhat eluded me, so
it may become clearer why I haven’t just knocked out an intro timeline post yet because this is actually really a lot difficult for me to keep straight, LOLsob
Anyway. So. The Third Northern War begins in August of 1271, and so all the prequel materials where Morvran is up in the North during wartime start then; The Battle of White Orchard occurs immediately before the beginning of gameplay of Witcher 3– three days I think?– and that is May of 1272.
Anyway. 1273 also exists and is a thing I’ve set things in but hadn’t really fully realized.
I’m working on it, I’m working on it. Bear with me. (Your picture was not posted)
