so i’ve bartered me working at the farmer’s market with BIL running power out to my cabin. (he did the work yesterday, but while i’m at market he can catch up on the things he was supposed to be doing yesterday, lol.) i still need to bury the wire, and in the end we didn’t go with burying it across the road, i’ll still have a cord i’ll have to unplug and plug back in, but it’s heavier-duty and better in general.
so i still basically have an extension cord that i reel out from the nearest outlet, it’s just that this one is 150 feet long instead of 100 feet, and the end point is an actual outlet in the wall. so that’s nice.
also there’s an internet router hooked up to the outlet, connected to a receiver for an antenna off the house, so that’s cool. the antennas aren’t quite aligned properly so it’s so slow i’m actually at the moment still on my phone hotspot, but we’ll iron that out.
am v excited to plug things in though. i mean… a lightbulb, a fan, and maybe a charging cable, that’s it. no heaters, no kettles, no refrigerators, but i don’t really want those things anyway.
The other fun thing, though the photo will never upload so i won’t bother to try, is that I got my banjo out here and sat on the porch and played it, which was like, a goal from the beginning. cabin porch banjo times. i have forgotten most of what i knew but not all of it, so that’s something i can work on.
