Poor little meow meow has DONE BAD THINGS and is SUFFERING FOR IT but UNDERSTANDS that they did bad things. The choice then is, do they lean into the terrible, or do they try to mitigate some of the harm in which they were complicit, by taking what responsibility they can and also maybe taking their shirt off and being soaking wet and shivering or something, idk, maybe there’s blood, maybe there’s some kind of self-sacrifice, you can really spice this up with anything

whereas the woobie is a noble sufferer who does not deserve this and has only ever tried their best and is also, idk, soaking wet and shivering or something, probably has their shirt off, there’s also like infinite ways you can go with this, with the bonus bit where someone can REALIZE they’ve been SUFFERING all this TIME and that they did nothing to deserve this and so on and so forth

They’re very similar in the net effect on the page in the moment! But it’s crucial to understand that while the meow-meow may not have stepped into their evil with open eyes, may have been coerced, may not have had all the facts, may have only been trying to survive, they still very much have done terrible things and they have to face the blood that is on their own hands and the harm they caused.
