“Did the villain deserve redemption, an essay”
No, fuck, it’s not about measuring villain’s atrocities and judging if they’re severe enough for the villain to deserve being given a second chance or not. It’s about the writing of their redemption. Was the villain shown to be truly sorry for their actions? Did they show remorse? Were they attempting to be better? Did they realize and acknowledge the wrong of their actions? Were they willing to accept rejection but would try to be a better person anyway? Were the feelings of people they’ve hurt acknowledged? Did they acknowledge not everything is always about them? Did they abandon their hurtful attitude?
It’s not about the villain as character “deserving” redemption, it’s about the story creating a redemption plot that feels believable and sincere. (Your picture was not posted)
