I started rethreading the serger (after cutting out a lot of stuff, hey, I wasn’t totally idle today, also I rode my exercise bike for 10 miles and the cat spent the entire time fretting that i was doing something Unnatural), and then it was time for dinner just as I was starting to thread the first spool, and now it’s sitting there, unthreaded, Judging Me, and I’ve lost my momentum and the Serger Demons are going to GET ME. Alas.
On the upside, though, while on the exercise bike, I reread the Raksura story “The Dark Earth Below”, which features small furry invisible animals, a Raksura clutch being born, and Moon being a total fucking badass (my favorite thing about Moon is that it’s almost always his POV so he’s very pragmatic about things like, you know, attacking large predators and brutally murdering them in the face while everyone else is being shocked and alarmed, because he’s used to taking care of himself, and like, remember, it’s a gender-shifted sort of world, so he’s a Beautiful Princess, and he just fucking murders giant things in the face like it’s no big deal, and everyone else is like, “…” and he’s like “what”, and from his POV it really is no big deal but you occasionally get other people’s reactions enough to realize that it’s basically like Cinderella just fucked up some muggers with a machete).
Anyway. I have a list of prompts to write but instead I have about 500 words of Chime being uncomfortably turned on by how badass Moon is. Which is not any of the prompts. Oh well.
Either I should go do battle with the serger or write more of Chime’s awkward he-could-murder-me-without-trying boner.
I have a creeping feeling everybody else is going to write fluff, for this challenge, and I’m going to be over here in the corner with blood all over my face cackling into my filthy smut. Whoops.
