Rules: tag ten people who you want to get to know better
I was tagged by @waitingfortheoncomingstormpilot– thanks! I’m tagging, hm. I’m bad at this, so if it seems super wacky for me to tag you, do disregard it; conversely, if you’d like to have been tagged then you can take this as an invitation for it. *spins wheel of recent interactions* @magickedteacup, @not-even-even, @laughingacademy, @danceswchopstck, @flirtypheonix, @imoshrooom, @buttons-beads-lace, @s-leary, @guinevak, @this-is-furious there, now I have fulfilled the ritual of the meme. Don’t worry though, it’s not like a chain letter *makes arcane blessing gestures* you don’t get bad luck if you don’t do it. ;)
Name and Nickname: Bridget, but I often go by B, in real life and online.
Starsign: Is this your astrology horoscope thingy? I think Virgo and I’m on the edge of something or other but I forget how that works. Clearly, this is crucial to my perception of the world, LOL.
Gender: cis female, she/her pronouns, but I’m not like, committed to it
Favorite color: various shades of blue
Time right now: ha well, i tend to save things in drafts, but as I type this part right here it’s 10 to 11 in the evening.
Average hours of sleep: I usually sleep six or seven hours in a night, but I think if I had a perfect life I’d get 5-6 at night and 1-3 more in a nap. I did that in college when I had a really rude roommate who had friends over until 4am routinely, and an 8am recitation; I slept 4-7am, and 3-6 pm, and it worked pretty great. I still hated her, but I survived. I love being up super early in the morning, but I also love being up late at night, but it turns out I don’t give a fuck about midafternoon.
Lucky number: 17? I don’t really have a lucky number but I do have weird superstitions about doing things equally– like if I step on a crack with my left foot then I have to step on one with my right, that kind of thing.
Last thing I googled: “atole recipe” which I know already but I always forget the proportions. I’m getting good at it. Of course, I discovered the other day that you can get prepackaged atole like hot chocolate packs at the Mexican grocery store.
Favorite Fictional character: Of all time? Snufkin, from Finn Family Moomintroll.
Dream Job: to write novels. that’s literally all I’ve ever wanted to do. i’ve said other things, because I’ve also assumed for my entire life that I could never actually get paid for doing that. Looking around, I’m not finding that I was wrong, but I’m still sorry about it.
What am I currently wearing: Ha. A short caftan I bought white and dyed medium blue, and a ridiculous lacy thong. Plus I still have on the jewelry I wore out to dinner, so, pearls and some lapis teardrop earrings. I’m sure I look ridiculous. i’m one of those people who changes into pajamas the moment they step in the door.
Height: five feet seven.
Number of blankets I sleep with: a sheet, and a proper goosedown duvet, with a cover on it because we’re not animals (Dude won’t put the cover on unless I make him, but ew, he smells like a dude, no, his filthy human skin shall not touch anything that can’t be readily laundered) year-round
When did I create this blog: February 2011, I think.
Current amount of followers: I have surpassed 600, to my astonishment, relatively recently. That just seems like an enormous number for someone who doesn’t Do Tumblr Right. But, I mean. I have been here for a Terribly Long Time, in Tumblr years.
What do I post about: Radically, I post about myself, which seems not to be what one is meant to do here. Mostly, now, I seem to focus on fannish activities, and I’m mostly active as a writer. I have WIPs in a couple of fandoms but I’m not a generalist; I tend to be a serial monogamist and it’s tricky for me to switch gears and go back and forth. I’m attempting it now, though!
Do you have any other blogs : Not currently active, but I have a Livejournal with archives going back 15 years now.
What made you decide to get a Tumblr: I wanted to participate in the Fatshion February thing people were doing, and also I had noticed that Livejournal’s traffic had declined to the point that I couldn’t really have conversations anymore.
Do you get asks in a daily basis: No, not that often. Every couple days, usually. I do like them, though. I answer messages more promptly but I have trouble keeping track of messages, a bit! I appreciate that you can get replies now, and reply to replies with proper Xkit configuration, so that’s pretty keen.
How did i come up with my username: My roller derby handle was B-17, so I just expanded it from there– I was named for the WWII medium bomber, the B-17, which was the Queen of Bombers, so I just expanded it that way.

Stripey from the sun through the blinds, also shedding like a mofo.
Another bonus: that’s the World’s Ugliest Couch she’s sitting on, which is the reason my dude and I met, which is a story for another day. Mm it’s not the reason we met precisely, but it was a major plot point. He wants to get rid of it, but inertia and sentiment are on my side. (Also my favorite cat pose is when she puts her paws into extradimensional storage like this. Where are her legs? We just don’t know!)
