So those who voted for Roche/Iorveth, I had intended to spend the weekend working on that so I could solidify the bit that was going to yield the title buuuuuut I didn’t, but– still, here’s the first chapter, I’ll get there soon enough and this bit is done at least.

“In proper society,” Iorveth said darkly, “a marriage before fifty was something of a scandal, but in these fallen times, I suppose,” and he sniffed.

“Fifty!” Ves barked, startled.

“Most human women lose their capacity to bear children sometime in their forties,” Roche put in diplomatically.

“Oh,” Iorveth said, and peered at Ves more critically. “I might have known. You’re all infants.”

“Why,” Ves shot back, “how old are you?”

“I don’t actually know,” Iorveth said.
