Chicken processing. Happened to be a group of all women in the evisceration room with me this time. At one point I realized I was the only one present who’d never given birth. (Me and the Overqualified Moms Club!)

Talk ranged all over, as it normally does. At one point, someone was ranting angrily about having been poorly treated by some vegans. We discussed this for a bit, mostly agreeing with one another, nothing particularly of substance being added to the discussion, and one of us finally said, “Well, I mean, clearly everyone in this room is in agreement, anyway.”

Sister, on the end of the line, hadn’t said much for a bit. At this point she spoke up, and said, deadpan, “Well, actually guys, I’m super uncomfortable being here.”
