we drove back to buffalo through gray drizzly rain, sometimes quite hard rain. i drove for a grand total of seven minutes; we stopped at a rest stop to pee and get fast food, and dude ate his lunch while i drove us over to the gas pumps and filled up the car, and then he took back over driving. which was wonderful because i was so tired and achy and burnt-out. I seam-ripped the sleeves off a dress I’d been cutting up, which was picky but mindless work, and then I caught up on Hobbit and Jill’s fic about Geralt and Eskel, https://archiveofourown.org/works/33818884/chapters/85220824 just in time for a big cliffhanger, and then I read over the bits I have for the next parts of the Roche and Iorveth thing and am debating which to post next.

(There are two, both Iorveth and Saskia. One is porn, and follows immediately after the Roche/Iorveth story I just finished posting, and then has a flashback to a previous incident, and then returns to the immediately-after-the-other-fic timeline. The other one is How They First Met and needs slightly more work but it would be fun to take a pause and visit Iorveth and baby Saskia in the woods. I’ve mostly talked myself into Porn Next but I’m still nominally debating.)

Anyhow– arrived home in pouring rain to discover package on doorstep containing– YES– dragon hoodie!!!

it is in fact EXTREMELY SHINY and perfect, and if I were going to order it all over again I would reverse the colors and have the body be a scale pattern and the lining be the fantastic liquid-looking iridescent color instead. But I am delighted with this one. It also fits with negative ease, which is indeed how it ought to, but I’ll wear it more if it’s looser I think, so I’m going to order some more stuff including a half-yard of the gold shatter fabric (or maybe some green scale fabric?) and add godets to the body so that it’s not quite so skintight so I can wear it as an outer layer. I can sew, myself, so I’ll have little trouble I think.

But I’m totally going to order more shit because I am so fucking delighted. I’ll post a terrible photo after the cut. I was going to take a better one but.

I’m also delighted by the bike shorts I got custom-made, with a non-shiny print for most of them and then shiny SIDE POCKET panels, that’s pretty fun.

But all is not shiny happiness,

i woke this morning feeling weird and dizzy and cold-sweat-y, and when I got out of bed the world was spinny and I was nauseous. I managed to take a shower, hoping to get rid of the cold-sweat feeling, but after I crash-landed on the couch the cold sweat and spinny and nausea came back. So I gave up and went back to bed, and texted my boss that I won’t be in to work. Which is annoying, because there’s shit to do and I would like to get paid please thanks. But.

Anyway. I went back to bed, wherein I discovered that lying on my side did not trigger the vertigo, so I could mindlessly scroll Tumblr, but only from a close enough distance that I could see it without my glasses, which were too uncomfortable to wear while lying on my side.

I was briefly Supervised in this activity, by a small Concerned person who was mostly irritated that she could not lie between me and my keyboard which is her very favorite thing.

how very dare. she settled on my feet, not particularly helpfully, but i did appreciate the companionship.

I caught up on sleep somewhat, and when I finally tried to sit up around 11am I was able to do so, and I’ve since then eaten some very plain oatmeal and am. Nominally upright at least.

But I lured you back here with promises of dragon hoodie, so here it is with the coordinating mask I also got:

it is SO GODDAMNED SHINY. i am the SHINIEST PRINCESS. where will I wear this? do not worry about that. go back and order a lace-up bralette to wear under it. and a floor-length velvet skirt. surely that is a sensible thing to own. why are you not getting out your wallet right this moment???? sheesh.

… i would have to get up to get my wallet and i’m not sure i can do that, lolsob. it’s for the best. (Your picture was not posted)

i am in a complete state about it, and also do not have the slightest idea how to style it with any garments i own, so probably i will not really wear it much, but at the moment i am just delighted to possess it.
