Can we talk about the Olympic sharpshooter that just won with one hand in her pocket and a Witcher medallion on her belt? Because I love her.
I know I already reblogged a post with this photo but like, there are a couple of things you should know now that this image of Vitalina Batsarashinka has gone viral on Twitter and now Tumblr.
1) this is the standard pose for this event. You are not allowed to hold the weapon with both hands, but must use a one-handed grip. The standard thing to do with the off-hand is either to hook a thumb on the belt loop or pocket, or put the hand into the pocket. (A few people put the hand on their hip, but the pocket is best for maximal stability.) This is absolutely standard. If you look at other photos of these events, literally every competitor is standing this way. 1a) men on Twitter who know absolutely nothing about sharpshooting are LOSING THEIR MIND over this image because does this little girl [a two-time Olympic medalist] not know that pistols have a recoil she could hurt herself etc etc??!?! It is absolutely fucking hilarious to watch this unfold in realtime, A+++.
2) this photo is from 2016 when she won bronze. This year she won gold, wearing the medallion around her neck. :) (Your picture was not posted)
