OK, after a reread, I don’t know what you’re asking. As it says, yes, Kylo is a much more subversive character than most people see him as, but if they go with Reylo as an endgame, canon thing, then it will be because he’s a white dude and she’s a white chick and the Death and the Maiden trope is a box-office hit, not because Kylo and Rey both individually subvert expected gender tropes and are complex stories. Like, if it becomes canon, it won’t be because of the cool stuff.
So I’m afraid I don’t really understand your question? That was her whole point, as I understood it. These are great, subversive characters, sure, but most of the people who are super into shipping them are not doing so for the subversive reasons.
So, that was the point. Not “you are wrong for liking this”, but “the fact that you like this for subversive reasons is not why most people like this and it’s worthwhile to remember that.”
