“But if he was in Temeria, why would he not stop by Novigrad?” Yennefer said. “It’s right there. And Jaskier owns the bar, and it’s full of strumpets.”

Cirilla laughed merrily. “Geralt’s favorite things, beer and strumpets!” But then she shook her head. “That’s not fair, Yennefer, and you know it.”

“When I went to the– it’s called the Chameleon now, the cabaret– this absolute hussy met me at the door, fawning all over, like to leap straight into my lap,” Yennefer said. “Flung her arms around my neck, I thought she’d strangle me.”

Cirilla tapped her finger on her lip. “Why would she do that to you,” she asked. “You’re not exactly someone who invites that sort of thing by your appearance.”

Yennefer hesitated a moment. “Well,” she said, caught out.

“Had you illusioned yourself to look like him?” Cirilla demanded, animated with amusement enough that she hopped up and down in place. Yennefer didn’t answer. “Oh, you had, oh– did you fool him? Did you fool Jaskier?”

“Only for a moment,” Yennefer complained. “He caught on right away! He’s no fun at all.” (Your picture was not posted)
