god im thinking about the mother daughter relationship between yennefer and tissaia. like fuck as a eldest daughter and recipient of the generational woman trauma, shit HITS. like yennefer is tissaias daughter in the truest sense of the word, being that she is a vessel for tissaias trauma, insecurities, and ambitions.
just, yennefer as a cycle breaker? i FUCK with that shit, and it just adds so much depth to her desire to be a mother.
- the nickname piggy, its got LAYERS. on one hand it shows a familiarity between them that doesn’t exist with the other mages, on the other its a constant reminder of yennefers Tragic Villan Origin story. like, you don’t need a expert to tell you that this is abuse.
- the fucking line where tissaia is like “there are mages like sabrina who control their emotions, and then there are mages like us who are consumed by them” like, the projection of tissaias emotions on yennefer, the derogatory way it is said, EVERYTHING.
- how she lets yennefer in on the initiation secret, like god! it screams of poor boundaries between herself and yennefer, she is showing her this because she views yennefer, not as a student, not as a person, but as a extension of herself, a part of herself that’s going to carry on at aretuza.
- the scene where yennefer gets remade? and tissaia is all like, proud and imagine the most powerful woman in the world, happy that her little trauma surrogate is going to get tissaias happy ending, she just, does not ask or encourage yennefer to think about what a happy ending is to her, she just, imposes one.
- THE ANGER! at yennefer rebelling against the institution that traumatized tiassaia, like, how dare yennefer choose her own happiness over adherence to the institution?? Tiassaia didn’t so obviously all that pain now gets transferred in anger at yen for breaking the cycle
just, theres so much going on with yennefer! theres so much POTENTIAL
