Mom’s just on fire with spring observations in the family groupchat, but this one was just a photo, submitted with a request for commentary.

Right of center is my mother’s foot, in the “duck” style Bean boots; she wears a US women’s size 11, which is quite large. Just to the left of her foot is a footprint in the mud, where something heavy enough to press through the grass left a clear mark with five distinct toes and the human-like pad of the front of the foot– but there are five little dots in front of the toes showing where claws entered the mud. It is clearly somewhat larger than my mother’s by no means small foot.

One of my sisters guessed Sasquatch, but I sent the 🐻 emoji.

“Explains the missing suet and empty bird feeder,” Mom said.
