This is true. 11 generations ago my ancestor led the secession of his village from Connecticut in favor of Massachusetts and then the heir of the deposed King of England came back and was like why is there a squiggle on this map, you should fix it. So they did. Nobody remembers this, but my ancestor died of spite at the Hartford legislature in 1680something over it and is buried there at their expense. Nobody remembers, but sometimes history is really amusing.
