My favorite type of lingerie, aesthetically. Oh gosh that’s like asking me my favorite type of chocolate, taste-wise. As it happens I’ve just spent several days poking longingly through lingerie websites because it struck me that to commemmorate a year spent in isolation I should buy something ridiculous to lounge around in since we can’t go out anywhere, and I’ve just realized for definite for sure that basically nobody’s going to have anything fit me off the rack, so the recs post I was going to make about lingerie is going to have to wait a bit.

BUT I can skim some of the cream off for you– all the stuff I’ve looked at that won’t fit me, but would be perfect for a fantasy world.

This bodysuit https://www.solsticeintimates.com/collections/black-friday-2020/products/love-spell is fucking adorable. I am a huge fan of the straps that are apparently for no purpose. This is a trend I find inexplicable and also love. But, fucking, beaded embroidery on mesh? head explodes (There’s a beaded and fringed black velvet robe https://www.solsticeintimates.com/collections/black-friday-2020/products/divine-velvet-full-length-robe in the same collection, how the fuck is that fair??)

Yeah it looks like I’m a sucker for embroidery on mesh because this bra https://www.thistleandspire.com/collections/new-in/products/tigris-bra also. (Not available anything like my size, ever, and no customizations available, so this company’s off my lists, but, again, fantasy, so.)

Then there’s, of course, Lovechild Boudoir, https://lovechildboudoir.com/ which is the sort of thing I cannot imagine ever wearing, but could look at all day. Realistically it’s just elastic straps with elaborate appliques attached but c’mon that’s, like, catnip.

I… get the appeal of corsets, I do, and have even owned one or two in my day, but am currently less interested in them than I could be. My current aesthetic is velvet, mesh, embroidery, some lace, and lots of silk chiffon. Fuck, maybe some sequins too.
