SO it has now been A YEAR since I posted the first chapter of Meet Death Sitting, which is, like– yeah, that’s a lot.

Quite early on in writing that story, I started thinking about a fun bit of plot I could do, based on a scene in the books where Yennefer rescues Dandelion from some Nilfgaard-aligned sorts who want to torture him for information.

I didn’t get around to writing it, but then later as I was writing Fugitive, I wanted to tie back in some of the stuff in there about Jaskier’s family, and so I vaguely mentally outlined that, as well.

I finally started writing this fic a few months ago, and then I careened off into a kind of weird special-interest hell featuring several characters that only appear in the books and games, and a startling number of you followed me there, for which I appreciate you tremendously.

But, here, in honor of the anniversary of the beginning of this wild publishing ride, is a sort of– revisiting, in the form of a direct sequel to Ancient Sea, featuring Yennefer and Jaskier and some canon-typical torture and shenanigans.

And prostate orgasms, because, you know, what would this series be without pegging?
