hear me out, i’m thinking someone gets injured and this character hastily rips off a chunk of his shirt to be an emergency bandage, and then well he’s got to stay dressed like that because he doesn’t have another shirt, so there can be a whole Serious Action Scene with this guy running around in a half a shirt. (Bonus: artful blood-splatter and some sword-wielding and whatnot. yeah!)

I promise I’ll write it respectfully. I mean, it’s an action sequence, mostly, after all, and the POV character can be the injured one, so they can be like… fuzzily regaining consciousness… staring blankly at The Coveted b e l l y b u t t o n like wtf is going on… i can artfully describe the belly button and the abs… the scene can move on from there and my weird need can be satisfied and then later someone can be like “what are you wearing?” and he can be like “listen I’m freezing gimme your coat”

(why doesn’t he just take off his whole shirt? i don’t know! why is that not as hot to me as him wearing half of it? i don’t know! ah, he can be wearing incomplete armor for complicated reasons that maybe something I was already working on would contribute toward, so he’s just got shoulder armor on and so removing his whole shirt would take too long so he just rips it. There you go. See, I’m good at this.)

and no one will be the wiser that i super wrote that entirely to be fanservice to myself because for some reason that is what i super needed in my life.

(advanced reader challenge: go thru my fics and figure out which parts are defintely fanservice to myself. weird but true hint: generally not the sex scenes.) (i always meant to do one of those DVD commentary memes but i never managed to, idk what i’d even write about, but. i have a lot of these kinds of thought processes, i promise u.)

So I'm reading this on Dreamwidth, and maybe its sth about the way things are displayed here, but I saw this line:

and I was immediately picturing it as: 1) someone got _overheated_ as in, weird but understandable phrasing, suddenly found themselves too hot, from things being too sexy; and so 2) this person, presumably a [bdsm] bottom, tied their [bdsm] top up. Which, you know, would just be the opposite of their normal dynamics! But that's because the sex up to that point had just been so hot!
.... yeah, and then imagine me, reading the rest of the entry and trying to make any sense of it. Aaaany sense at all. Yeah. No.
No point to it, just wanted to share :-) How people misread stuff is so weird and Freudian.
