dragonlady7this pandemic has been fine for me and i'm lucky not to be in danger particularly, but i can still grieve, if you have it worse understand i'm grieving for you too, sometimes it's the little things, that make you really notice the fucked-up big things

it’s saturday, and i have today off and don’t have to drive several hundred miles, and so in celebration not only did my body let me sleep in until after 5, the cat let me sleep in until well past six, and i didn’t actually haul my lazy carcass out of bed until almost seven so like, wow
anyway we were sitting on the couch, drinking coffee and waking up, and dude had the cat on his lap, and then he said, with this air of determined decision like he sometimes gets and I’m deeply fond of, “let’s go get breakfast!” and got up holding the cat and I, for a brief moment, was so excited because it’s been forever since we went out and there are so many good lil bagel shops and creperies and diners and shit in our great little city and–
and then I remembered why it’s been forever since we went out, and that most of those little shops are gone now, and I got real sad, so.
(apparently he says that to the cat every morning, I’m just not usually around for it.)

Date: 2020-12-05 08:01 pm (UTC)we could just GO there and they would COME and ASK us what we WANTED and then they'd go COOK it for us and we'd EAT IT RIGHT THERE and it'd be HOT and NOT SOGGY and then they'd DO THE DISHES and we'd give them MONEY and we'd PEOPLE-WATCH and we'd get COFFEE REFILLS and sometimes there were MIMOSAS and things and there'd be a cute baby or a funny family or somebody we knew or like a cute dog or something and it was the outside world and society and BWAAAAHOOHOOHOO *sobs*

i'll be over it in a moment, i'm making homemade pizza from really good ingredients, it's gonna be great, it's fine, i'm warm and safe and home and my family did not give one another covid on our ill-advised thanksgiving jaunt, but now my bil's been exposed down in maryland so it's good we saw them when we did.
