Just a short bit of how Gaetan got into the state he’s in when Geralt finds him in Witcher 3. Warnings for blood, swearing, and a lot of murder.

(also working off my headcanon that the Cat School actually has a berserking mechanism built in.)

Gaetan strode back into the tiny little— it wasn’t even a village, just a homestead with one extended family in about four buildings. Whatever. He was exhausted and he had a throbbing headache from the Tawny Owl he’d taken, but he’d done what he’d been hired for. He strode over to the ealdorman’s house and rapped on the door, hefting the leshen’s head to a better position on his shoulder. Damn pointy thing.

The ealdorman opened the door and did a double-take at Gaetan.

“Killed your monster,” Gaetan said, wiggling the trophy.
