It may not be canon anymore but honestly my absolute favorite Leia Organa moment was in the young Jedi Knights series where Zekk, the low class friend of Jaina and Jacen Solo, accidentally ate a bouquet that he thought was salad at a fancy dinner. Leia automatically just starts eating her own bouquet to make him feel less embarrassed, and everyone awkwardly has to follow suit.
And then Jacen and Jaina were worried that this would hurt their mom’s relationship with the ambassador she was speaking with, when actually the ambassador was moved by how compassionate she was to the kid, to the point of not only improving diplomatic negotiations but also asking Leia to read the ambassador’s own children a bedtime story.
This is the first thing I’ve seen that makes me actually want to pay more attention to the old canon, y'know? That’s phenomenal.
