Kyrgyzstan election: Sunday's results annulled after mass protests https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-54432030:
I was in Kyrgyzstan for a vacation in 2018 and thought it was such a beautiful place. I knew they had trouble with corruption, and like many post-Soviet republics, had struggled to balance a new political system with a traditional way of life much-disrupted by generations of foreign repression. They’ve had better success at free and fair elections than many of their neighbors, in the past, but they’re going through hard times just now.
Times are hard everywhere, and I feel solidarity with others who are afraid but trying their best.
