Ok so i am not in this bar but the bit about
horses knowing/responding to their names cracks me up. I’ve got a couple who definitely know their names (ex. i shout across the pasture at Wizard to stop being a shithead and he looks at me…and continues to be a shithead) but some who definitely either don’t know or don’t care. Kinda like cats that way
HA
My horses did not give a shit about their names. I don’t even know that they knew them. My aunt actually changed the one horse’s name when we got her, and she definitely super extra did not care about the new name. (I called her by the old name and she also did not care about that one.) Very much like cats; some cats care about their names, and mine answers you if you say it (and she’s in the mood to), and farm cat Beans loves it when you call her BeanBean and will frolic at you, but Reno and Whiskey do not care about their names and don’t particularly recognize them; occasionally they like being addressed but it doesn’t matter what noises you make, it just matters that you’re making noises to them.
(I fucking love that you have a shithead horse named Wizard. Mine were named Sugar and Tiger and maybe the names were too similar? But they just did not care about their names.)
(it does add a potential bit of amusement if you contemplate Geralt having multiple iterations of different horses with the same name and Jaskier gets used to the one and then she gets replaced and the new one responds to her name and is in all ways just a different critter; horses have pretty distinct personalities, like cats do…)
